Imamia Jantri Official news desk: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to set separate jails for women across the province to give them a sense of protection and security in prison.
Special assistant to chief minister for prison Mr Shafiullah, said that the proposal for separate jail is under the jail reform initiatives. He added that meeting would be summoned with the chief minister over the matter of setting of separate jails.
He said in a statement that after the approval of CM the suitable locations for separate jails will be search out. He acknowledged that women are facing problems in prison for not having proper facilities
He said that 160 women are living in jails across the province in which 35 women are convicted rather the rest of women have their cases under trial.
